Payment Options


For your convenience, we will file any changes incurred during your care with your insurance carrier. Our staff will contact your insurance carrier and verify your coverage. We will let you know what your insurance will cover and what you can expect your portions of the cost to be. Except in very rare occasions, insurance will not cover the entire cost of your care.  Please be mindful, that benefits quoted to our staff is not a guarantee of payment by your insurance carrier. There are times during the verification of coverage, that insurance companies simply mis-quote coverage.  Therefore, we recommend you also contact your insurance carrier to insure you are covered and eliminate any surprises. Deductibles, Co-pays and Non-covered services are the responsibility of the patient. There may be special circumstances or limitations on your policy such as pre-authorization necessary prior to receiving care.  Please be aware that the patient is ultimately responsible for charges incurred. We will wait for 45 days to receive payment from your insurance carrier. Late charges will accrue on balances in excess of 45 days.

Unfortunately, CIGNA  & United Healthcare have become so difficult to work with that we are no longer a preferred provider for them. We appologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. 

Patients Without Insurance

We realize everyone does not have insurance coverage or sometimes there are restrictions on coverage. Sometimes patients simply need help.  As a commitment to our patients, we have searched for ways to make and keep care manageable and affordable. Therefore, we can offer several options available to help without insurance with the cost of care. 

Credit Card Option

We accept Master Card, Visa and Discover cards. We request that the first visit be paid in full. On the following visits,  we request a minimum of 50% of the daily charges be paid.  We will then bill your credit card on the 15th of each month a manageable amount until your balance is satisfied.

Care Credit

We offer Care Credit which is a credit care issued and used primarily in physician's offices, call our office for more details or serach Care Credit on line.

Personal Injury and Automobile Accidents

As with any care, the patient is ultimately responsible for any and all charges incurred by the patient while under care. In the case of personal injury or automobile accidents, our office will issue a lien to the insurance company or the third party payer responsible for your injuries and/or your attorney accordingly. These liens issued under Missouri State Law, protect our interest in the case. This gives our patients the freedom and opportunity to seek care for their injuries without the anxieties and worries associated with cost upfront. We ask that you please notify us if you are represented by an attorney. Our office will be happy to work with the majority of the local law firms. Our office will wait for your attorney to negotiate a settlement on your behalf for a period of six months after you have completed your care. At that time or should you terminate your care in our office, your balance for services rendered will be due immediately. Attorney referrals are available.

Out of State Automobile Accidents

If you have been injured in an accident that occurred out of state and you have obtain an attorney in another state, our office will work with your attorney and issue a lien under that state's law to the third party payer that is responsible for your injuries and your attorney accordingly. Being able to file liens under another state's laws gives our patients the options to seek the care they deserve. Our office will wait for your attorney to negotiate a settlement on your behalf for a period of six months after you have completed your care. At that time or should you terminate your care in our office, your balance for services rendered will be due immediately. Out of state attorney referrals are available. We have been successful in working with attorneys in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Georgia, and in Florida. 

Worker's Compensation

If you have been injured on the job, the cost of your care is the responsibility of your employer. Notification of any work related accidents must be reported to your employer and you must have your employer's permission to receive care at any facility; otherwise the patient is solely responsible for the entire cost of care.


Our office is currently not accepting any new Medicare patients. Please be made aware that Medicare only covers the cost of an adjustment.  While Medicare requires this office to preform an examination on the patient during their first visit, the cost of any diagnostics such as X-rays and other examinations are solely the responsibility of the patient.  Any therapies performed are also the responsibility of the patient.  Then, Medicare only covers 80% of the fee for adjustments after you have met your deductible for the year.  The remaining 20% again is the responsibility of the patient or a secondary insurance carrier.

Medicare Replacement Policies

We accept most Medicare replacement policies. Please be made aware that some of the replacement polices are now requiring the insured (you) to have a pre-authorization from your primary health care provider prior to seeking chiropractic care. It may save you time if you check the coverage, however if you need assistance, we will be happy to contact your insurance provider to verify your coverage.


Unfortunately, at this time Medicaid doesn't cover Chiropractic in the State of Missouri. Presently, the leaders in the Chiropractic field is attempting to make Chiropractic care available to every person needing care. Please review the paragraph above for patients without insurance.


At Skaggs Chiropractic, LLC we recognize that privacy is important. Our Privacy Policy applies to all of our services and can be viewed on one of the following pages of this website.  We are compliant with HIPAA regulations and you can rest assured that your Private Health Information is secure.  Our clinic has been using electronic storage of medical records since 2004, and during the tornado of May 2011 not a single record was lost.  Should you have any questions about medical records or our privacy policy please contact our clinic.
